bobby kalphat zion hill dub LP pre release on Terminal records u.k 1977 matrix tm-101 a/b 10 tracks with unknown titles as this album never had a proper release. Vinyl: VG++ Nice and clean and glossy with no scratches just light surface marks and light scuffs. Plays great with just a little background crackle in the quiet bits but no pops or jumps. Labels: Nice and clean with 'pre release' written one side and the other side plain. Sleeve: Generic white paper sleeve ( i bought it in a 12" sleeve for big youth strictly rockers gussie) which i will send it in to the winner. definitely one a the rarest dub albums ever.....there were only some dozens pressed as pre-releases for the small Terminal label around 1976.....and what kind of killer dub to be found here….all these great Phil Pratt riddims from the mid 70s given a special treatment by melodica player Bobby Kalphat and the Pratt All Stars….soundwise it’s very close to Lee Perry’s “Kung Fu Meets The Dragon” and I wouldn’t hesitate to say YES if Scratch would claim that he engineered at least large parts of this record….which has ten tracks including cuts to John Holt’s “Strange Things” (organ), Horace Andy’s “I Don’t Want To Be Outside” and “Get Wise”, Dennis Brown’s “What About The Half” (all given a great melodica treatment) and Horace Andy’s “Money Is The Root Of All Evil” (a killing moog version)….as well as the Heptones’ “Party Time” (melodica) and some so far unidentified riddims……THIS MAY BE A ONCE-INA-LIFETIME-CHANCE to get this musically great + mega-rare album…..so grab it while you can…..
